The election of Nasir Idris as governor of Kebbi State has been upheld by the Appeal Court located in Abuja.
The tribunal ruled that Dr. Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress is the legitimately elected governor of Kebbi, rejecting the appeal submitted by the PDP and its candidate for governor, retired Maj.-Gen. Aminu Bande.
Maj. Gen. Aminu Bande (retd) of the PDP’s plea was denied by the three-member panel of the Tribunal, chaired by Justice Ofem Ofem, for lack of merit.
The tribunal held that the petitioner could not substantiate their allegations of forgery and non-compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
