There was fear in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday, as the body of a young nurse was discovered without a womb, She was said to have attended a  night out within the city.

Omoniyi Boluwatife, the nurse, was discovered dead and her corpse was removed by police.

According to reports, Boluwatife, a Lead City University graduate, was accepted into the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria on Tuesday.

She had apparently gone to a nightclub on Tuesday night to celebrate her recent admission into the nursing profession before she was discovered dead.

The remnants of Boluwatife were seen on the floor in a viral video.

According to an anonymous source, Boluwatife accompanied her mother to the motor park prior to the night of the incident after she traveled from Port Harcourt to join her in the celebration.

The source added, “Boluwatife was a member of my church. In fact, she gave testimony about her graduation last week Sunday after she cleared the carry-over course delaying her graduation. She was a gentle person, and to hear the news of her death broke me.”

In response to the news of her death, Copacapana, the club where she allegedly went, disputed that the event occurred on its premises, saying that its management would not accept responsibility for occurrences that occurred outside its facilities.

“It saddens our heart to hear about the tragic event that occurred to some customers after leaving our facility,” the company said in a press release on Friday. However, as a nightclub, we cannot accept responsibility for occurrences that occur outside of our grounds, though our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

Meanwhile, attempts to contact the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adewale Osifeso, were futile, as calls and messages to his cell phone went unanswered as of press time.

City Round gathered that the incident caused some apprehension among the people of the state and beyond, as many wondered what could have happened to the deceased. Some others mourned her passing as they lamented that the incident simply brought her efforts to an abrupt end.
