President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent fatal stampedes in Ibadan, Anambra, and Abuja, blaming the organisers of the palliative distribution events for the tragedies.

The stampedes, which occurred while residents were trying to collect groceries, resulted in the loss of over 60 lives, including children.

Tinubu, in a media chat on Monday, described the incidents as a “very grave error” on the part of the organisers, emphasising the need for better planning and crowd control measures to prevent such disasters in the future.

“I see this as a “very grave error” on the part of the organisers,” Tinubu said.
