Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw the redeployment of Alhaja Faosat Joke Sanni to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion.

Alhaja Sanni takes over from Toyin Balogun, who has been relieved of her appointment.

Governor Makinde, while thanking Mrs Balogun for her contributions to the development of the state, wished her success in her future endeavour.

Mrs Sanni, who had earlier served as the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion from 2019 to 2023, was moved to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2023 before being recently redeployed to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative.

The new redeployment takes immediate effect.

On Tuesday, Governor Makinde had forwarded the name of the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Dr. Olabode Taiwo Ladipo, to the Oyo State House of Assembly, as a commissioner-nominee.

The governor had also appointed Arc. Ifeoluwa Akande as the Chairman, Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee; Honourable Isola Abiodun Adekunle as Executive Adviser, Intra-Party Affairs; and Hon Oladejo Emmanuel Oladokun as Part-Time Member, Local Government Service Commission.

According to a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, the appointments take effect from July 1, 2026.

Governor Makinde, while congratulating the newly-appointed individuals, urged them to discharge their duties with dedication, loyalty and commitment.
