The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has confirmed Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke as the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Oyo State.
Adegoke’s Form EC9, alongside those of other candidates, was posted on INEC’s website in the early hours of Saturday.
The governorship election will be held in Oyo and 27 other states.
Our correspondent reports that with the display of Adegoke’s name, the controversy surrounding the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the ADC in the state has been put to rest.
Adegoke, in his reaction, advised all aggrieved aspirants to cooperate with him in order to win the election.
He said, “We, therefore, urge all other aspirants and their supporters to desist forthwith from any further misrepresentations and to respect the decision of the party and the position of INEC.
“We call on our members, supporters and the good people of Oyo State to remain calm, united and focused as we mobilise ahead of the elections.”
