Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has asserted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the most poorly rated institution within the government.

Dalung, while fielding questions in an interview on Trust TV on Wednesday, asserted that INEC is still operating within the parameters of confusion, citing the outcome of the 2023 election.

While urging INEC to redeem its image, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain stated that mere mention of the electoral umpire calibrates the blood pressure of some people because of what they have suffered.

He said, “When an individual sat to say, technical glitch and said, I’ve declared the results, if you disagree, then go to court. This has inflicted monumental pains amongst Nigerians.

“So, it is left for INEC to redeem its image, which, from their body language, they are still operating within the parameters of confusion. So we cannot judge them yet.

“Maybe, they may decide to align with posterity and do justice. That I don’t want to predict. But for grading of institutions in Nigeria, I think INEC is the lowest.”
