Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, has said that the planned nationwide protests will not only do Nigeria a disservice but Africa.

Kalu said Nigeria cannot be seen to be copying the footsteps of ‘smaller countries’ like Kenya.

He stated this while fielding questions on Arise Television’s News programme.

He said: “Nigeria cannot be seen to be copying the footsteps of ‘smaller countries’ like Kenya. We play the big brother role in Africa, this protest will be emulated across Africa if not discouraged. President Tinubu is only asking for patience to correct the 16 years of PDP rule in Nigeria.”
