Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has debunked the story making the rounds on social media about the purported closure of the Aso Rock Chapel on her alleged orders.

A Twitter user had alleged that Mrs Tinubu, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), allegedly ordered the closure of the parish over the alleged refusal of the members to vote for her husband, President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

However, a statement on Monday by Busola Kukoyi, Special Adviser to the First Lady, described the story as “a fabrication and totally false representation of the true situation.”

Kukoyi noted that the First Lady at no time gave such directive that the Chapel be shut and the keys handed over to her.

“Presently there are weekly fellowships going on at the Chapel,” the First Lady’s media adviser added.

She explained that President Tinubu is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the Chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain, noting that the President only reserves the right to appoint a Chaplain for the Chapel.
