The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Zamfara State, has cleared the three National Assembly seats in the just concluded supplementary election which was conducted on Saturday.
Declaring Hon. Ikra Aliyu Bilbis winner in the rerun senatorial election for Zamfara senatorial zone, the returning Officer, Professor Kabiru Abdulahi, said Bilbis of PDP scored a total of 102,866 votes to beat senator Kabiru Garba Marafa of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 91,216 votes.
According to him, in Gusau Local Government Area, former minister Bilbis scored a total of 97,993 votes while Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa scored 85,330 with a difference of 12,663.
In Tsafe Local Government Area, the PDP scored a total of 24,846, while the APC scored a total of 21,706.
He said that in the Maru Local Government Area of the State, the PDP scored 9,067 while the APC scored a total of 13,397, saying that the total valid votes were 23,146 while the rejected votes are 868.
For Gusau/ Tsafe Federal Constituency, Dr. Aliyu Moyi, who was the returning officer, declared Hon. Kabiru Adamu of the PDP as the winner in the contest.
He said that the PDP scored a total of 41,893 to beat his APC rival, who scored 28,836.
In the Gummi Federal Constituency, Hon. Suleiman Gummi of the PDP also captured the constituency seat
He polled 35,664 votes to defeat his closest challenger and the candidate of the All Progressives APC, Ahmad Gummi, who scored 35,058 votes.
The collation officer of the Gummi- Bukkuyum supplementary election, Dr. Lawal Saad, declared Suleiman Abubakar Gummi the winner, having scored the highest number of votes and satisfied the requirements of the law.
