President Mohammed Buhari has commissioned the Cancer Treatment Centre of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
The President, who came in company with Governor Babagana Zulum, was given a brief on the newly commissioned hospital after cutting the tape of the facility by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Professor Ahmed Ahidjo.
The Cancer machine was made possible by the member House committee on appropriation Murktar Betera who was equally physically present in the occasion.
Machines installed were the first Elect Versa, HD cancer treatment, the first infinity linear accelerator in Nigeria with SRS which aims radiation at cancer tumors with pinpoints accuracy without spraying nearby tissues.
