Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria’s President-elect, is now in Daura, Katsina State, meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tinubu arrived in Lagos late Wednesday night, only hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission issued him with a Certificate of Return (INEC).
According to our source, the meeting with the president is most likely motivated by a desire to thank the outgoing President for his assistance during the election campaign.
Recall that President Buhari openly presented his ballot papers when voting on Saturday at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara Ward A, Daura Local Government Area, proving that he did not betray his party member and presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu was accompanied on his visit to Daura by the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, as well as the governors of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, Ebonyi, Dave Umahi, Zamfara, and Bello Muhammad.
Tinubu was proclaimed President elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday after defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
