Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, has replaced the Commissioners of Police in five states.

CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force’s Public Relations Officer, announced their redeployment on Tuesday.

The removal of the CPs in Lagos and Adamawa is the main focus of the shakeup, which was revealed less than three weeks before the general elections.

The presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, come from the states.

Adebola A. Hamzat (Adamawa), Emeka Frank Mba (Ogun), Suleiman A. Yusuf (Taraba), Idowu Owohunwa (Lagos), and Faleye S. Olaleye are the new commissioners (Ebonyi).

According to a representative for the Force, the appointments are subject to confirmation by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
