President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at the Eagle Square, venue for the All Progressives Congress national convention.
The convention kicked off on June 6 with registration formalities, while stakeholders of the party have been enmeshed in consultations over who should emerge as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
A total of 23 aspirants picked the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms, but about 10 were said to have been disqualified during the screening exercise that was held recently.
Among top contenders for the primary election, which is expected to produce a presidential flag bearer, are former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, among others.
