Apprehension as Gas Tanker Falls on Lagos Road

An empty tanker has completely blocked the Ibeju Bridge along the Epe Expressway, leading to heavy traffic in the area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

To manage the traffic, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency LASTMA has announced traffic diversion.

‘’For Motorists inbound from Inner Epe, Marina, Begger, and Oko Orisan heading to the Island:

Please divert via:

– T-Junction → Oke-Osho → Tokin → Agbowa → Imota

– Reconnect through Ikorodu Road to proceed to the Mainland.

For motorists from Lekki, Ajah, Victoria Island, and Law School heading towards Epe:

Please divert via:

– Ikorodu Road → Ikorodu → Tokin

– Continue your journey from there.

Recovery Efforts

LASTMA officials, in collaboration with emergency response agencies, are actively working to evacuate the tanker and restore normal traffic flow on the bridge.

Safety Reminder

Motorists are urged to:

– Remain patient

– Exercise caution

– Cooperate with traffic officers on site”

LASTMA says it is currently waiting for the crane machine, as the vehicle owner has promised it is on the way.

Further updates will be provided once the evacuation is completed.
