Despite the current economic crisis plaguing the country, the Federal Government asserted on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu’s renewed optimism program is already having a good impact.
Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, asserted Kano during an “Iftar” (Breaking of Fast) event his ministry arranged for media professionals and executives.
He pleaded for Nigerians to trust the current government as it works to resolve the problems facing the country.
He said that the administration had implemented programs and policies that would improve Nigerians’ quality of life.
He stated that for the policies and plans to be successfully implemented, Nigerians needed to have faith in President Tinubu’s leadership.
Idris claimed that the administration was making great efforts to revive the country’s refineries.
He promised that production would start as soon as the Port Harcourt Refinery’s renovation was finished.
The minister expressed regret for the poor management of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the previous bank administration.
He said Tinubu’s administration had brought back the lost glory of the apex bank through adoption of apt policies.
“The renewed hope agenda of Mr President has started yielding positive results, because the economy of the nation is gradually being revived and the challenges will soon be over,” he said.
Idris urged journalists to be objective in their reportage of the government’s policies and programmes aimed at moving the nation forward.
