The Organised Labour has pledged to carry out a thorough, comprehensive, and prolonged countrywide shutdown if the Petrol Pump price is increased from the current 617 naira, which it calls “illegal.”
The notification was given by NLC President Joe Ajaero on Monday at the African Trade Union Alliance conference in Abuja, where organized labor also cautioned against undermining the union’s objectives.
It was reported that oil marketers on Sunday warned that the price of Premium Motor Spirit, often known as petrol, will jump to between N680/lite and N720/litre in the coming weeks if the dollar continues to trade between N910 and N950 on the parallel market.
They also stated that dealers looking to import PMS were being forced to postpone their plans owing to a lack of foreign exchange to do so.
