Former ex-President Muhammadu Buhari spokesperson Femi Adesina has slammed the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah, over his recent remark.

Adesina stated that Kukah was disappointed that he never received “under-the-cassock patronage from Buhari.”

On Monday, Kukah said that the worst period of corruption in Nigerian history occurred under Buhari’s presidency.

According to Kukah, the corruption tendency did not begin under Buhari but rather grew under his watch.

He said in Ado Ekiti while delivering a lecture commemorating the 60th anniversary of the call to bar of Aare Afe Babalola, the founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti.

Reacting, Adesina tweeted: “Who listens to that Bishop again? He’s still pained that he got no under-the-cassock patronage from Buhari, unlike in the past. As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us.”
