Nigeria’s Falconets will take on England in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after the knockout fixtures were finalised on Sunday.
Nigeria booked its place in the knockout phase in emphatic fashion, defeating New Caledonia 10-1 in their final Group F encounter.
The result saw the Falconets finish second in the group with four points and secure a place among the last 16 teams in the competition.
Their next challenge will be England, with the two sides scheduled to meet on Thursday.
The Round of 16 stage will begin on Wednesday with four matches, including a clash between Argentina and the Republic of Korea.
Brazil will face the United States, while Italy will meet China. Spain will also battle Portugal for a place in the quarter-finals.
The remaining four Round of 16 matches will be played on Thursday, with Nigeria’s meeting with England among the fixtures.
