The Ondo State House of Assembly on Tuesday said it has received a letter of medical leave from the state Governor, Barr Rotimi Akeredolu.
Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, who confirmed this at plenary, said the Governor embarked on a 21-day leave for medical treatment abroad starting from 7th of June, 2023 to 6th July, 2023.
He said the Governor had directed his Deputy, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to act as the Governor while away.
Oladiji, who described Akeredolu as a lover of peace and an apostle of rule of law, wished the governor speedy recovery and joyful vacation.
Akeredolu has been on an extended vacation and this is widely believed in the state to be connected to his state of health.
In fact, a rumour had circulated in Ondo that Governor Akeredolu was dead, but the state government quickly debunked it.
