David Adeleke, best known by his stage as Davido, claims that the general elections of 2023 were not fair.
This was said by the Dami Duro singer during a recent interview with Beat 99.9FM in Lagos.
Following the passing of his son Ifeanyi, Davido took a 6-month social media hiatus, but he later said that if he had been online, he would have been outspoken about the elections.
He said he was happy about the low turnout of voters, adding that the safety of voters matters.
He said, “I’m happy that people were not coming out. You know if I was online, I would have been vocal about it [the election]. I have always been vocal about it.
“But, I mean, I was happy about it [the outcome of the election. That’s just being honest.”
“It’s what it is! But I don’t feel like that was a credible election. Do you know what I’m saying? I feel like the most important thing is the safety of life of everybody. But in all, that wasn’t it. So, I don’t think I will be able to hide that. I can’t hide that,” the singer added.
