Uchechi, wife of the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to reports that he filed for a divorce while her husband is serving a life imprisonment sentence.

In a reaction that had a laughing emoji, Uchechi said she had just learnt that she filed for divorce from her husband.

Posting on her verified X handle, she wrote: “Good conscious evening, my blessed Biafrans. I have just learned that I filed for Divorce while my husband is in prison 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”

It was reported that Uchechi filed for a divorce following years of alleged infidelity, financial neglect, and intense interference by Kanu’s family members. These, the report claimed, broke the marriage beyond repair.

The reports claimed that Uchechi, who married the IPOB leader in 2009, had endured over a decade of emotional strain caused by Kanu’s alleged promiscuous lifestyle and multiple extramarital affairs.

According to the reports, prior to his high-profile arrest in 2015, Kanu was involved with a lady identified as Chioma Amaryllis Ahaghotu, whom he met in 2014.

Chioma, who reportedly believed Kanu was single at the time, allegedly bankrolled him with thousands of dollars before walking away after discovering his pattern of lies and exploitation.

Meanwhile, Kanu is currently serving a life imprisonment sentence at the Sokoto Custodial Centre after he was convicted of terrorism following his agitation for Biafra.
