Former governor Yahaya Bello has recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Kogi Central Senatorial District, winning across all five local government areas of the district.
Results collated from the five local government areas which were in favour of the former governor are: Adavi – 18,341, Ajaokuta – 10,298, Ogori – 5,146, Okehi – 8,943, and Okene – 29,621. Total – 72,399.
Results for Bello’s co-contestants are as follows: Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke: Adavi – 67, Ajaokuta – 147, Ogori – 63, Okehi – 25, Okene – 13; total – 319 while Momoh Yusuf Obaro polled: Adavi – 14, Ajaokuta – 76, Ogori – 65, Okehi – 25, Okene – 8; total – 188.
Bello will most likely, in the general election, face Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan who is expected to clinch the PDP ticket on Wednesday, being the only aspirant for the party’s primary.
