President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Lagos following a three-nation diplomatic and economic engagement across France, Kenya and Rwanda.

The President arrived on Friday evening at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where he was received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, alongside other government officials.

According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President used the international engagements to advance Nigeria’s economic and diplomatic interests.

While in France, Tinubu reportedly met with global investors and highlighted his administration’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline and economic reforms.

“President Tinubu met with global investors, emphasising transparency and fiscal discipline and explaining the rationale for the swift implementation of the bold economic reforms his administration has instituted,” the statement said.

The President also attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.

At the summit, Tinubu advocated reforms to the global financial system and called for stronger African economic integration.

“He called for a reform of global financial architecture and a stronger economic integration that prioritises Africa’s growth and prosperity,” the Presidency stated.

The President also promoted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged support for maritime cooperation among Gulf of Guinea nations.

While in Nairobi, Tinubu held bilateral talks with Madagascan leader Michael Randrianirina.

In Kigali, the President participated in the Africa CEO Forum alongside African leaders, investors and business executives, where discussions focused on accelerating economic growth through regional integration and cross-border investment.

He also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame to discuss bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Rwanda.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu further engaged with multinational organisations and investors including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and Winme Group.

The statement noted that the meetings produced “notable favourable outcomes” for Nigeria.

The President also participated in panel sessions and discussions centred on his administration’s reform agenda and investment policies.

Tinubu is expected to remain in Lagos for the All Progressives Congress primary elections scheduled to begin on Saturday.

Ahead of the exercise, he urged party members and aspirants to maintain peace and uphold democratic values.

“Keep the peace and be ready to play as sportsmen and women in the overall interest of the party and our country,” the President said in an earlier message to party faithful.
