The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and other fuel retailers have raised the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

According to Daily Post, a quick tour round NNPCL outlets in Abuja on Tuesday revealed that petrol has been adjusted upward to N960 per liter, up from N875 sold on Monday.

This means that the state-owned oil firm jerked up its pump price by N85 per liter.

The new price has been implemented in NNPCL filling stations on Kubwa Expressway, in Gwarimpa, in Wuse Zone 6, in Zone 4, and in other outlets.

Similarly, Empire and Ranoil Sharon have increased their fuel pump price to between N980 and N960 per liter.

While MRS filling station along Kubwa Expressway is yet to commence fuel dispensing as of filing this report, a manager at one of its outlets in Abuja, who preferred anonymity, told Daily Post their price would be reviewed up due to a gantry price hike by Dangote Refinery on Monday.

It was earlier reported that Nigerians would have to pay more for fuel after Dangote Refinery hiked its gantry price over increase in global oil price, due to hostilities in the Middle East.

Both the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria had confirmed to DAILY POST that fuel prices would go up from Tuesday.

Recall that Dangote Refinery increased its gantry petrol price to N874 per liter on Monday.
