The Presidency has assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in good health and actively carrying out his official duties during his state visit to Türkiye, dismissing concerns raised after he briefly stumbled at a public event in Ankara on Tuesday.

Addressing reports that trended online, according to Arise News, the presidency clarified that the incident occurred not because of any health issue but as a result of a poorly laid blue carpet at the venue.

The Presidency explained that Tinubu’s momentary loss of balance occurred during a welcome reception in the Turkish capital and that he immediately recovered without interrupting his schedule.

The presidency further noted that the stumble was caused by the flooring arrangement, dismissing health concerns that swirled on social media following the clip.

Since the minor mishap, the President has resumed official activities, including bilateral talks with Turkish authorities as part of the state visit.

He is also expected to jointly address a press conference with his hosts after ongoing meetings.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu remains in high spirits and good health, and continues to lead Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements.

Recall that President Tinubu had on Monday arrived Ankara, the capital of Turkey for a state visit.
