FRSC Reveals Real Cause of Anthony Joshua Car Crash that K!lled 2 Persons

According to a statement made available by the FRSC, the accident involved five persons, with one injured, two unhurt and two others k!lled

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, has attributed the crash that k!lled two people and injured Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua to over-speeding and improper overtaking.

The crash which involved a Lexus SUV with the number plate, KRD 850 HN, carrying Joshua, reportedly collided with a stationary truck around past 11:00 am on Monday, in front of Sinoma, before Danco, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

According to a statement made available by the FRSC, the accident involved five persons, with one injured, two unhurt and two others k!lled.

The statement explained that the driver of the Lexus was over-speeding and wrongfully overtook from the right hand side, thereby ramming into the stationary vehicle.

It added that Anthony Joshua was rushed to an undisclosed hospital by the security officers attached to him and the bodies of the deceased deposited at Livewell Hospital Morgue, Sagamu.

The statement read: “An Auto crash occured today 29h December 2025 involving two vehicles along Lagos-Ibadan expressway at SINOMA.

“Sagamu unit of FRSC rescue team were at the scene as soon as they were informed.

“Five people were involved, one was injured, two were unhurt while two were k!lled in the crash.

“The cause of the crash was due to over-speeding and wrongful overtaking by the drive who overtook from the right hand side thereby ramming into a stationary vehicle.”

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of Ogun State, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, has assured members of the public that a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident has commenced.

Babaseyi noted that Joshua who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was receiving medical attention.

He expressed the Command’s heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that updates on the incident will be communicated as investigation progresses.
