The Federal Government has directed the immediate closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges nationwide following escalating security concerns.

The directive was conveyed in a circular issued on Friday, warning of “heightened security risks in several regions” and emphasising the need to safeguard students and staff.

According to the document, the decision received the approval of the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa.
