Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district has vowed not to apologize to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

She spoke on Tuesday after regaining access to her office at the Senate wing of the National Assembly.

Speaking with journalists shortly after an official of the Sergeant-at-Arms unsealed her office, Akpoti-Uduaghan said she was cautious about making extensive comments because some issues were still pending.

“I am going to be quite limited with what I’ll say. In the weeks to come, I will have much to say,” she noted.

The lawmaker expressed concern about reports suggesting that a motion may be raised to compel her to apologise as part of conditions for her resumption.

“So, I am actually worried as to what apology they expect from me. You can’t apologize for an injustice,” she stressed.

The Kogi senator maintained that her suspension was unjust and vowed not to bow to pressure.

“In everything, it just shows that sometimes it’s good to put the institutions to test. We can’t be cowed in the face of injustice. No one is more Nigerian than us,” she said.

She further thanked her constituents, family and colleagues who stood by her throughout the suspension.

Akpoti-Uduaghan urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the country despite its current difficulties.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel,” she assured.
