Okpebholo Submits Additional List of 4 Commissioner-nominees to Edo Assembly

They are Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue and Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four more individuals as Commissioners-designate for the state.

This was contained in a special release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., dated August 1, 2025.

He listed the nominees as: Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue and Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa.

Profiles of the Nominees

Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams
A distinguished legal practitioner and political activist, Adams holds qualifications in law and human resource management. He has held several leadership positions including Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor, and General Manager of Edo State Rubber Estates. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and currently serves as the Principal Partner at Nosa Adams & Co.

Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP
Musa is a renowned politician, philanthropist, Rotarian, agricultural scientist, and business consultant. A Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC–Nigeria), he previously served as Executive Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area. He has also been honoured as an Eminent Peace Ambassador by the International Association of World Peace Advocates and is actively involved in the Rotary Club of Auchi Metro and other professional institutes.

Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue
Akhabue is a chartered accountant, businessman, political leader, and former Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council. He rose to become the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and has held key positions in international organisations, including Vice President of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and Board Member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).

Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa
An academic and expert in Industrial and Production Engineering, Prof. Ikponmwosa is a seasoned educator and researcher in automation and control systems. He is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).

Forwarded to Assembly for Confirmation

The announcement further disclosed that the nominations would be transmitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

“The nomination of the aforementioned individuals will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation,” the statement by the SSG concluded.
