Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has stated that Nigeria’s constitution is absolute rubbish.

He stated this on Tuesday while urging subsequent Nigerian leaders to improve further from where the late former President Muhammadu Buhari stopped.

Reacting to Buhari’s death in an interview with Channels Television, he recalled how Buhari usually addressed him as a “rascal” during his lifetime.

He charged Nigerians to remember Buhari for his impact on the country during his lifetime.

He said: “For now, we must remember Oga for what he did. How did he impact the people of this great nation? The others coming behind – what are they going to do?

“What have they been doing in the last two years? Is there anything positive, acceptable to the people?

“Are we still going to have this manipulated process? For how long?

“I’m on the 8th floor of life. What else can you do than to talk? My great-granduncle was the first Nigerian politician in 1922. He was in the struggle of trying to build a nation when he died in 1946. That was Herbert Macaulay.

“So, what do you want to be remembered for? What do you want to do to remove these abject poverty lies from the people of this country?

“There is hunger in the land, and therefore, anger in the land, and you are saying people are running to parties? What do you do with the party?

“Let’s think of the people. That is where the power comes from. The constitution we are operating is absolutely rubbish. It centers only on one man in Abuja.

“What has it got to do with my local government here? Look at Lagos; it has the highest number of local governments. How do you do it? Revisit the constitution.

“These are things that the upcoming people will think about. He has run his time and finished.

“I want to express my condolences to his immediate family members, the good people of Katsina, the good people of Northern Nigeria, and the whole of Nigeria.

“We will miss him. He always called me a rascal, but we will miss him.”
