Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has extended warm felicitations to children in Edo and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Children’s Day.

The Governor, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Fred Itua, on Tuesday in Benin City, urged parents and guardians to dissuade their children from joining cult groups.

“Governor Okpebholo recognizes Children’s Day as a significant opportunity to celebrate the boundless potential, innocence, and vibrant spirit of our young ones, who are the true leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring children’s well-being, providing them with quality education, and creating an environment where they can thrive and realize their full potential.

“Our children are our most precious assets. Their dreams are the blueprints for a brighter future for Edo State. As an administration, we are fully dedicated to investing in their development, protecting their rights, and nurturing their talents,” the governor added.

* Protection of Children’s Rights: Governor Okpebholo stressed the importance of safeguarding children from all forms of abuse and exploitation, noting the state’s efforts to enforce laws that protect children and ensure their access to education.
* Youth Development: The administration remains committed to creating opportunities that empower young people and prepare them to be productive citizens while also tackling issues that hinder their progress, such as cultism and violence.
