The Niger Delta Students Union Government (NIDSUG) has commended Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State “for his dedication to education and youth empowerment.”

Speaking at a press conference in Uyo, NIDSUG National President, Comrade Scott Ogunseri, praised the governor’s initiatives, including the payment and increment of student bursaries, special allocations for students with disabilities, and rewards for outstanding students.

“Governor Umo Eno has redefined what it means to invest in the future of young people,” Ogunseri stated, calling on other Niger Delta governors to emulate his leadership in prioritizing student welfare.

The event also served as a platform to announce the Niger Delta Students Entrepreneurship Summit, scheduled for April 2025 in Uyo. The summit aims to equip student entrepreneurs with the skills and resources needed for life after graduation.

Among the notable attendees at the press conference were Comrade Wisdom Emmanuel, Personal Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Students’ Affairs, as well as NIDSUG National Delegates, State Leadership, and Chapter Representatives.

NIDSUG further expressed gratitude to Governor Eno for his continued support for students and congratulated the Akwa Ibom governor on the recent completion and convocation of his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.

The press conference was also well attended by students, stakeholders in the education sector, and members of the NIDSUG leadership, reaffirming their collective commitment to advancing education in the Niger Delta region.
