A police officer has reportedly shot a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer.

This is according to a report by Channels Television.

The police officer allegedly shot and wounded the FRSC officer during an enforcement operation in Lagos.

The incident reportedly occurred during the nationwide launch of an FRSC crackdown on fake number plates under the Lagos Sector Command.

Channel TV reports that the enforcement team was actively conducting checks when the shooting took place.

Meanwhile, the Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, who was overseeing the operation, declined to provide details on the shooting.

He urged journalists to remain patient while investigations unfold.

Authorities have yet to confirm whether the assailant is a member of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and police officials in Lagos have not issued any statements regarding the incident.
