Senator Monday Okpebholo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, has emerged the winner of the Saturday, September 21, 2024 governorship election.
Okpebholo emerged winner after polling a total vote of 291,657 votes ahead of his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 247,526 votes.
While Okpebholo won a total of eleven local government areas across the three senatorial districts in the state, Ighodalo won the remaining seven local government areas.
As at the time of filing this report, the Independent National Electoral Commission was yet to formally declare Okpebholo as Governor-elect.
