The 15 paragraphs of the so called Special Adviser to Obaseki on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie attempt to defend Governor Godwin Obaseki’s failed government is absolutely unconvincing. The truth is, Obaseki has been a disappointment to the people of Edo State, and his administration’s failures are evident.
The claim that Obaseki is “wicked” and “lacks empathy” is a gross understatement. Obaseki is actually the wickedness of the wicked and the callousness of the callouses, he has totally disconnected from the people and doesn’t care about their needs anymore.
Crusoe’s assertion that Obaseki’s critics are politically privileged and seeking to maintain their stomachs abi power is a baseless censure. Many Edo citizens are simply dissatisfied with Obaseki’s poor performance.
The example of the Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS) loans is not a testament to Obaseki’s empathy, but rather a demonstration of his administration’s incompetence. What were the results of those politically connected farmers who were the beneficiaries?
Crusoe’s definition of empathy is skewed. Obaseki’s actions have not demonstrated a genuine understanding of the people’s struggles. His policies have only served to further marginalize the vulnerable.
The appointment of a Deputy Governor against the people’s voice and Speaker of the House is not a sign of empathy, but rather a political calculation to maintain power. Where is the evidence of genuine concern for the people?
Obaseki is only causing more harm to the state with his useless policies and continuous rise of the state debt profile. Obaseki’s safety nets have been inadequate and ineffective.
Again, Crusoe attempt to portray Obaseki as a champion of the people is unconvincing. Obaseki administration’s policies have only served the interests of his Lagos based political class.
The people of Edo State deserve better than a government that prioritizes political power over their well-being. Obaseki’s administration has failed to deliver on its promises.
Crusoe also asserted that Obaseki’s critics are motivated by political access and relationship with power. I weep for Pastor Crusoe and whoever him as a servant to Obaseki and God. Many Edo citizens are simply demanding good governance and Crusoe is here with his jabs.
Let’s tell ourselves the truth. Obaseki’s administration has been marked by corruption and impunity. Those who are connected to him are shielded from accountability, while the people suffer.
Crusoe’s idea to rally support for Obaseki is misguided. The people of Edo State will not be swayed by blind narratives and propaganda.
There are Governorship candidates who represent a new era of leadership that will bring real change to Edo State. Who will prioritize the people’s needs and deliver good governance and not the types of Obaseki’s puppet.
All Crusoe’s attempts to defend Obaseki’s failed government is a disservice to the people of Edo State. We deserve better than a government that prioritizes political power over our well-being.
The people of Edo State will not be fooled by the Crusoe’s propaganda. We demand a government
