The Forum of All Progressives Congress State Chairmen has expressed confidence in the party’s national leader, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The delegation of 37 state party chairmen said there was a coup attempt to oust Ganduje as APC National Chairman, but it failed.

They announced their opinion during a solidarity visit to the party’s secretariat in Abuja, where they swore their commitment to Ganduje.

The acting chairman of the forum and Lagos APC chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, said they are solidly behind Ganduje and would defend him against external aggression.

“We are here to let you know that you remain the captain of the ship. After all, those who made the announcement were not even known to the party in the first place. We will not allow you to be embarrassed like the former chairmen of the party.

“What they wanted to do was a coup. But the coup has failed. We are here to show that we are solidly behind you anytime, any day,” he said.
