The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced that the 16 governorship candidates in Ondo State competing for the party’s ticket ahead of the state’s gubernatorial primaries on April 20 would be screened shortly.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national leader, confirmed this and promised hopefuls of an equal playing field during the primaries.
Speaking via the party’s deputy national organising secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, the national chairperson, stated that the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, is dedicated to ensuring that the rules governing the primary election are rigorously followed.
He also told opposition parties in the state that the ruling party will be victorious during the November 16 polls, stressing that the APC will retain its hold on the state.
“Being the last day of the closure of submission of forms and after today, the next exercise would be the screening exercise that would take place on the 11th and 12th of April next week.
“We would basket the aspirants into groups; we would have done it today, but because of the different views of when the holidays would fall, our confidence is that by Monday the government would have released the date for the Salah holiday,” he said.
