The chairman, Delta State House of Assembly committee on Urban Renewal, Hon. Pereotu Oloye has stressed the need for Deltans to continue to remain peaceful and law-abiding in order to attract accelerated socio-economic development.
Hon. Oloye, Member representing Burutu 11state constituency in the State House of Assembly, who gave the advice during his two-day thank-you visit across the various wards in the area, reassured the people of quality representation.
While reassuring the people that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him, the Lawmaker, is optimistic that his representation would continue to attract peace, good governance, progress, prosperity and sustainable development in the locality.
Appreciating the people for voting for him and other candidates of the PDP in the last general elections, Hon Oloye said the Thank-You Visit was a promise made during his electioneering campaigns.
Accompanied by the State Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, and the PDP Chairman for Burutu local government area, amongst others, the Lawmaker emphasized the need for the people to work for peace and sustained socio economic growth of the area.
Hon Oloye thanked the people for their warm reception and promised not to loose focus to attracting dividends of democracy to the constituency.
He used the opportunity to call on Deltans, particularly the people of Burutu 11 state constituency to be committed to the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Advancing Delta project of the administration.
“The State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori means well for Delta State. He needs our support to succeed in his MORE agenda. Burutu 11 can never be left out in the advancing Delta project. So let us join forces with other stakeholders to make progress in the Delta State”, He stated.
Hon Oloye also paid tributes to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor for his support and cooperation, saying that the Speaker has been a great source of encouragement.
The electoral wards visited include Endoro/ Ekogbene ward 6, Ojobo Ward 5, Torugbene Ward 1, Tamigbe Ward 2 and Tuomo Ward 3.
Political, opinion and community leaders who spoke during the visits, including the Senior Polical Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Chief Funkekeme Solomon and Elder P.Y Biakpara thanked Hon Oloye for the thank you visits, which they said was a hallmark of a good leader.
The respondents commended the return by the Lawmaker to appreciate supporters and integrate them to the direction of his representation.
They enjoined Oloye to remain a worthy ambassador of Burutu ll Constituency and assured of support of the people to succeed in the onerous task ahead of him.
The high points of the Thank You Visits were presentations of gifts, including sports kits to promote healthy sporting activities and competitions in the environment.
