A committee tagged “Project Implementation Committee” for the provision and installation of surveillance systems on the Abuja-Kaduna highway has been inaugurated by the federal government.

Henshaw Ogubike, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defence, explained that it was part of the strategies being put in place to address the raging security challenges, particularly on the highways.

The Minister, Abubakar Badaru, according to Ogubike, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the provision of the surveillance systems along the Abuja-Kaduna highway would also cover the railways.

Badaru disclosed, “The eight-man committee will fast-track their assignment and they must deliver within 18 months in order to check the frequent security challenges along the route.”
