The West African Examinations Council has scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday, January 23 and 24, for its free mock examination for all prospective candidates of its maiden computer-based West African Senior Secondary School Examination.

This was revealed in a statement by the Acting Head, Public Affairs Department, Moyosola Adesina, on Monday.

According to the statement, this is ahead of the first series of the actual computer-based test which is scheduled to commence nationwide on Wednesday, January 31, for private candidates.

The statement read, “The mock examination will hold on January 23 and 24, 2024. Candidates are expected to log on to the mockcbt.waec.org.ng portal from their phones or personal computers to take the examination.

“The mock examination portal will be accessible all day for the two days. Candidates would be allowed to access the mock examination page a second time if the first attempt fails.

“Information containing login details of registered candidates will be sent to their respective email addresses and phone numbers as soon as registration closes.

“Also, a link to the tutorial video on how to use the examination portal will be made available on all our social media platforms.”

According to reports, WAEC disclosed that the planned Computer-Based Testing model for the 2024 examination was only scheduled for private candidates and would not be used for general school candidates.
