Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has said it is important for the team to beat hosts Cote d’Ivoire in their next game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The three-time champions started their campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea.

The Super Eagles must avoid defeat against the Elephants to boost their chances of making it to the Round of 16.

“We must win, definitely we must win. I know the next game will be tough, but we must win,” he said at a media parley in Abidjan.

The encounter against Jean Louis Gasset’s men will be held on Thursday at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan.
