Dr. Betta Edu, the suspended Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister, has appeared at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters for questioning over her alleged participation in a N585 million scam.
President Bola Tinubu suspended Edu on Monday, according to Metrowatchxtra.com.
The minister was charged with depositing the humanitarian fund into a personal bank account.
The N585 million was allocated to vulnerable individuals in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Cross River, and Ogun states.
Edu is the first minister to be removed from office since the Federal Executive Council (FEC) was inaugurated in late August.
