To calm the political upheaval in Rivers State, Governor Simi Fubara has approved the payment of an N100,000 Christmas bonus to public officials on the government payroll.

Warisenibo Johnson, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, announced on Tuesday.

According to him, the governor signed off on the bonus payment on Tuesday, allowing staff to enjoy a joyous Yuletide holiday this year.

The development comes hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu brokered eight-point resolutions to end the impasse between Gov Fubara and the current Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Reacting after the crisis resolution deal, Fubara said there is no price too big to pay for peace to prevail.
