The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu on Monday disclosed that he is being beaten.
Shaibu disclosed this while insisting that he’s not fighting with the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Speaking on TVC programme ‘Journalists Hangout’, Shaibu vowed never to fight back.
Recall that Shaibu was entangled in a messy fight with Obaseki that led to him being locked out of his office.
After he was locked out of his office, Shaibu publicly apologized to Obaseki.
But there are claims that Obaseki is still not happy with his deputy.
Amid the resentment, Shaibu had declared his intention to run for governor in 2024.
He expressed hope that Obaseki and Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole will support him.
According to Shaibu: “Adams Oshiomhole will support me because Edo people want their own, and I’m there own.
“I’m sure Obaseki will support me and my name and party, PDP will be on the ballot.
“I’m not fighting, I’m being beaten. I booked a hotel and paid, but a senior government official threatened to demolish the place. This is because I’m the candidate.
“I’m not going to fight because when I get the ticket, I need all of them to work, the state need a unifier.”
