The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 elections, Omoyele Sowore, on Thursday, described the just concluded off-season governorship elections as a scam.
The elections were conducted on Saturday, November 11, in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states.
Sowore made his position known in a video posted on his official X handle captioned, “Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa off-season election scams by inecnigeria’.
In the video Sowore said, “Well, if anything else, I have already predicted that these elections are predetermined.
“What they call the PVC is ‘Poverty Verification Card’, it is meant to confirm that you are poor.
“What you saw in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa is the new strategy of conducting elections that have now become consolidated.
“They don’t even hide it anymore that they are not interested in the ballot box and papers, they are not even hijacking ballot boxes anymore, they just write the results and announce whatever they want.
“So, INEC which is the conduit for rigging elections should be given a Nobel Prize for defining the meaning of election.
“This is the recipe for disaster thou, and those of you who always thought that we were wrong in asking for a revolution, I think you have now come to the resolution for the fact that we are sorry, we are just ahead of others.
“Our only crime was that we saw four years ago ahead of others, we should have all come together instead of being distracted by the political class that doesn’t even understand what Nigeria stands for and what it should get.
“I hope is not too late, I am available and our movements are all intact, we are the only movement in this country that don’t go on vacation after elections.
“Other candidates that didn’t win election have all gone into hibernation, some have returned to their base in Dubai, others are in other places, some other ones are looking for appointments.
“Some have been divided into two, some are working for the government and some are pretending to be working against the government.
“We stand firm, consistent, convinced that one day the tables will turn.”
