Newcastle United, a Premier League team, is considering a deal for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Victor Boniface.
Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen from Union St Gilloise in the Belgian Pro League for €12 million this summer.
The well-built striker has drawn attention after scoring nine goals and assisting three times in ten appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.
According to The Sun, Newcastle United’s scouts watched him play in Portugal for Nigeria in the friendly against Saudi Arabia last weekend.
The 22-year-old didn’t score but was a handful against the Saudis, causing problems in their backline which forced an own-goal.
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is keen on adding some physicality to his frontline and sees Boniface as a top target who would complement the likes of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.
