President Bola Tinubu unexpectedly ordered the withdrawal of Engineer Imam Kashim Imam’s nomination on Thursday.
Prior to this, Imam was named to the position of Chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency’s Board of Directors (FERMA).
The president’s media assistant, Ajuri Ngelale, made the announcement of Imam’s departure with immediate effect.
Ajuri noted that all other appointments to the board and executive management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.
Recall that there had been a backlash on the Federal Government for appointing Imam, believed to be 24 years old, to the board of FERMA.
There were no specific reasons the presidency ordered the withdrawal of the nomination.
