President Tinubu has written to the Nigerian Senate requesting that Ola Olukoyede be screened and confirmed as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Olukoyede will serve a four-year term if approved.
According to Metrowatchxtra.com, Tinubu selected Olukoyede as the EFCC’s substantive chairman.
Olukoyede’s appointment followed the resignation of the suspended executive chairman of the commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Tinubu’s request for his confirmation is contained in a letter read during Tuesday’s plenary by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
President Tinubu also asked the Senate to confirm Mohammed Hassan as secretary of the anti-graft agency.
