Osun Awo | Community Writes CJN, Pleads for Timely Adjudication of Chieftaincy Litigation | METROWATCH

The people of Awo,the headquarters of Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State,under the aegis of Awo Development Council (ADC),has forwarded a letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria(CJN), Honourable Justice Olukayode Ariwoola,GCON, pleading for timely adjudication of the case before the Supreme Court of Nigeria in SC/CV/1079/2022 on CA/AK/58/2021 on Alawo Chieftaincy Stool.

According to the letter dated 31st August,2023 which was signed by the President-General of the association,Chief Michael Adeleke and the copies were made available to newsmen on Wednesday, appealed to the head of nation’s judiciary,to assist the people of the community on quick dispense of the said case.

Chief Adeleke disclosed that the group was concerned about the development and growth of the ancient town of Awoland, urging Justice Ariwoola,in interest of truth, equity and justice, to safeguard the rights of all the parties in the said Suit.

The letter said,” We are writing your good office to intimate you on the Supreme Court Case N0: SC/CV/1079/2022 in respect of Alawo of Awo Chieftaincy Stool matter on the timeous resolution of the case as it affects the entire existence of the ancient town of Awoland in Osun State.

“The good people of Awo town of have been waiting to know their fate as regard the Suit because of the impostor,Adegboye Taiwo Rasaq, still parading himself as new Alawo in disregard to the Appellate Court Judgement in CA/AK/58/2021.

“The 2nd Appellant (Taiwo Rasaq Adegboye) in this Supreme Court case,has continued poking finger into the eyes of the law, hiding under this case with the Supreme Court of Nigeria by continuing parading himself as new Alawo of Awo in flouting of Judgement of the Court of Appeal, Akure Judicial Division.

” It is in our opinion that the ongoing rascality and absurdity of Taiwo Rasaq Adegboye should be stopped and not allow to stand because of the grave implication it has on the innocent people of Awo that hold Supreme Court under your watch in high esteem.It has cleared to us as a development group in the ancient town that the 2nd Appellant, Taiwo Rasaq Adegboye,forged all the documents and also perpetrate evils and other illegalities to put him on the throne illegally”

” From the above,we are rest assured that the justice would be done to all the parties in the Suit before the Supreme Court because the 2nd Appellant (Taiwo Rasaq Adegboye) was installed through the fraudulent process by faking and forging all the documents relating to the stool, disregard to Court Orders and imposing on the stool with illegal chieftain Declaration.”, ADC submitted.
