Court Convicts 10 for Internet Fraud | METROWATCH

The Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has convicted 10 people on one count bordering on internet fraud.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Saturday.

The convicts were arrested at different locations in Makurdi for alleged involvement in cybercrime.

According to the statement, the defendants who were prosecuted are Ikyegh Senenge Bobo, Anum Cyprian Sesugh, Boniface Udoo Aondofa, Utor Stanley Torkuma, Obande Emmanuel, James Ekere, Tony Ochekwu Moda, Ochaje James, Shadrach Ugbu Aondona and Odumu Michael.

The investigation revealed that they assumed different identities to lure unsuspecting persons into phoney social relationships to defraud them.

They all pleaded guilty to their respective charges and were sentenced respectively, on Thursday.
